Police keep public safe during city’s largest sporting event

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police, fire crews and EMS have one of the hardest jobs on race day – keeping Indianapolis safe during all the fun.

Public Safety Director Troy Riggs says it takes thousands of personnel to take on one of the city’s largest sporting events of the year.

“All the men and woman in uniform and the public safety team do a great job every year,” Riggs said.

Anyone attending the race is also urged to help if they see something they should report it to officials.
