TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A man who was found unresponsive in Lake Freeman Friday evening has died.

Investigators say 83-year-old Floyd Grant was on his riding lawn mower when it rolled down an embankment and onto a dock.

Boaters pulled him from the water around 6:30 p.m. near Terrace Bay Court, that’s south of where U.S. 421 crosses the lake in Monticello.

Grant was airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

According to the Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo, Grant died Saturday. His visitation is set for Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a funeral starting at 1 p.m. Friday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
