OTA’s winding down for the Colts

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) The Colts are preparing for a season filled with high expectations, and so far, they’re meeting the mark in their offseason activities.

“We’re further ahead at this point than any point since we’ve been together,” said Colts head coach Chuck Pagano.

The Colts shift gears from OTA’s to mini-camp next week, ramping up the intensity when they add the pads.  The guys say this time isn’t as much about the physical aspects of the game.

“From a physical standpoint, very little,” said Pagano when asked what he gets out of OTA’s.  “We’re going to find out about a lot of the guys come training camp time when we get to put the pads on and actually play real football.”

“Getting your legs underneath you,” said Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson on what he gets out of OTA’s.  “You want to work on your conditioning. You want to iron out whatever details you didn’t really know about a scheme. Try to learn as much as you can. More importantly, you want to try to pick up what other guys are doing around you. That in turn helps us be a better defense and a better unit.”
