Downtown race could tie up rush hour traffic Thursday night

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The running of the 2015 Monumental Mile taking place Thursday evening will mean closure of portions of Meridian Street.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the northwest quadrant of Monument Circle will be closed for packet pick-up. At the same time, another portion of Meridian Street will be closed between 12th and 13th streets in preparation for the start of the race. See those closures here:

Shortly after 6 p.m. as runners need to line up for the run. Meridian Street will be closed between 11th and 16th streets for the start of the race, and then also from 11th Street down to Monument Circle for the race route. See those closures here:

The first race is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., and the last race should end around 8 p.m.
