Students rally around classmate with inoperable tumor

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)-Students at Phalen Leadership Academy rallied around a classmate with an inoperable brain tumor Thursday.

Londyn Davis underwent radiation over the last six months. When she is able to attend school, it’s usually in a private session with her teacher.

On Thursday, she spent the last day of school with her classmates and friends. Phalen staff and students called their annual field day “Londyn’s Day.”

The goal was for Londyn to have some fun before she headed into chemotherapy, and to raise awareness and money through donations to help her parents pay for treatment.

“This is probably the most generous thing anyone has ever done for my family and me,” siad Londyn’s mom, Teela Davis.

Davis said she is confident her daughter can survive.

“Something will be done,” she said. “She will fight this. She is very strong.”

Londyn will start chemotherapy in a few weeks.

School officials are encouraging people that want to help, to donate to the family’s GoFundMe account.
