Local organizations team up for youth event

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana Fever and the Department of Public Safety are partnering together for an event to help the youth in the community.

Prior to the Indiana Fever’s home opening game, there will be the Tip-Off Jam for Youth Summer Jobs.

The event will be on Georgia Street in front of Bankers Life Fieldhouse from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Local groups and organizations that offer summer jobs and youth programs will be in attendance to make the youth of the community aware of the opportunities available.

The event will raise money and awareness for those organizations youth summer jobs and programs.

Department of Public Safety, Valerie Washington, and Indiana Fever Director of Media Relations, Kevin Messenger, stopped by to talk about the collaborative community event.
