NBA star Eric Gordon returns home for basketball camp
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Former Indiana University star and current NBA player Eric Gordon is spending his summer giving back to some NBA hopefuls. He’s running a camp in June for boys and girls from kindergarten through middle school as part of his E3 Basketball Academy.
“It’s good just to be around kids period and just to enjoy the experience with them,” said Gordon. “Kids always idolize NBA players, and I did when I was younger, so it’s definitely no different for these kids now.”
After seven seasons in the league, Gordon had his first taste of the NBA playoffs with the New Orleans Pelicans. His future with the franchise, however, is in flux. Gordon has a player option in the final year of his contract. He told 24-Hour News 8’s Amanda Maynard he’s no closer to a decision, but he likes where the franchise is headed.
