Police apprehend accused serial robber

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police took a man into custody over the weekend who they believe is responsible for a series of robberies in the Indianapolis area.

Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives were able to identify the serial robbery and theft suspect as Alhadja Bayon.

Police say Bayon has an extensive criminal history and was convicted this February of a gas station robbery in Indianapolis.

Investigators say Bayon was suspected of robberies and theft of money from four Indianapolis and Lawrence area gas stations between June 4 and June 5.

Detectives say Bayon admitted to crimes at these locations:

• Marathon Gas Station at 8404 Southeastern Avenue
• Shell Gas Station at 7024 North Keystone Avenue
• Speedway Gas Station at 4960 East 56th Street
• Shell Gas Station at 8190 Allisonville Road
