Police: Driver arrested with BAC of .333

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – A Columbus woman was arrested over the weekend after police say she drove a car with a BAC of more than four times the legal limit.

Officers were called to a gas station in the 1600 block of Central Avenue around 9:20 p.m. Saturday on the report of a possibly impaired driver who was seen staggering in the parking lot.

When officers arrived they saw two vehicles that appeared to have been in a minor crash. Police say they spoke to the drivers and noted 51-year-old Natalie Hall had slurred speech and had a hard time maintaining her balance, 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at The Republic report.

Officers say they found an open bottle of whiskey on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat of Hall’s vehicle. Police say Hall later tested a .333 blood-alcohol content, more than four times the legal limit.

She was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was released from the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
