WISH-TV rated first in morning news demos

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – WISH-TV’s 24-Hour News 8 continues as a leader and go-to news source for viewers in Central Indiana, according to the Indianapolis Nielsen Station Index (NSI) for April 23 – May 20, 2015.

“We appreciate viewers making 24-Hour News 8 their choice for local news,” said Les Vann, WISH-TV president and general manager. “May marks another ratings period of growth as Central Indiana’s independent news station. WISH-TV ended the sweeps period achieving significant household and demo rating and share growth.”

24-Hour News 8’s Daybreak at 5AM was rated #1 in both Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, growing both ratings and share, over February 2015 and May 2014. 24-Hour News 8’s Daybreak at 5:30AM was also rated #1 in Adults 18-49, and grew over February.

WISH-TV expanded its local morning news in January, and since has continued to beat network broadcasts head-to-head. In May, 24-Hour News 8’s Daybreak, 7-9am, beat CBS This Morning in all key adult and women demos, growing audience share over February. With Women 25-54, Daybreak, 7-8am, ties ABC’s Good Morning America and doubles the ratings of CBS This Morning.

In addition, 24-Hour News 8 at 5PM earned a 3.1 household rating, ranked #2, outperforming the local ABC and CBS affiliates in the market. 24-Hour News 8 at 5:30PM earned a 2.9 household rating, ranked #2, outperforming the local ABC, CBS and Fox affiliates. 24-Hour News 8 at 11PM grew both ratings and share in all key demos over February.
