Suspected drunk driver strikes school bus, 3 other vehicles on N. Meridian

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A suspected drunk driver crashed into four vehicles, including a school bus, near 61st Street and N. Meridian Street Sunday afternoon, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The driver of the Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School bus told 24-Hour News 8 that he was returning from a girls basketball game.

It’s unclear whether students were on the bus when the crash occurred.

The suspected drunk driver was southbound on Meridian when he hit the four vehicles.

Police say several people received minor injuries. The suspect was transported to the hospital with injuries.

Traffic was slowed on N. Meridian for a while as officials cleaned up.
