Former Purdue student mentally fit to stand trial

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A former Purdue student accused of attacking another student has been found competent to stand trial.

Boda Wu allegedly tried to strangle a woman with a phone cord in August of 2014. He was sent to Sycamore Springs Hospital in November for psychological and emotional issues.

Wu was later sent to Logansport Hospital where he was deemed competent earlier this month. He is now back at the Tippecanoe County Jail.

Wu faces five felony charges including battery, strangulation and criminal confinement.
