GREENCASTLE, Ind. (AP) — A parts supplier to Indiana’s Subaru factory is planning an expansion and potentially adding 300 jobs in the next couple years.
Chiyoda USA Corp. announced Monday it would build and equip a new 90,000-square-foot facility at its existing factory in the western Indiana city of Greencastle. The building housing a new paint line is scheduled for completion next March.
The company says it now has about 230 full-time and temporary workers at the factory, which makes various automotive parts such as air conditioning ducts, fender molding, trunks and trunk covers.
The company says it is increasing manufacturing capacity for the Subaru assembly factory in Lafayette.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered the company up to $1.3 million in tax credits and training grants based on the its hiring plans.
