Autopsy: No trauma on brothers dead from apparent overdoses

GRANGER, Ind. (AP) – An autopsy says there were no outward signs of trauma on two brothers that died of suspected overdoses after attending a party near their home in northern Indiana.

The St. Joseph County Coroner’s Office says Nick and Jack Savage were found unresponsive and were pronounced dead Sunday at their parents’ home in Granger. Police say the brothers, both of whom graduated from Penn High School, went home to sleep but never woke up.

WNDU-TV reports it could be as long as eight weeks before toxicology tests can determine what caused the brothers’ deaths.

St. Joseph County Health Officer Dale Deardorff tells the TV station that drug overdose is the most common cause of accidental death in the county.
