Daredevil Brewing to hold grand opening
Another brewery awaits you, and this time it’s in Speedway!
After 18 months of planning, zoning and finally construction, on Wednesday, June 17, Daredevil Brewing Co. is celebrating its completion! The new craft-brewery will kick off its grand opening event at 11 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Town of Speedway and Speedway Redevelopment Commission. Following the ribbon cutting, the brewery will open its doors to the public, offering beer, brewery tours, food trucks and live music.
Here are a few fun facts about the brewery!
– The Main Street location is an expansion of their growing beer business and a result of their beers being very popular across Indiana.
– The new $3 million, 10,000-square-foot facility represents the first newly constructed production brewery built in Indianapolis since the Prohibition.
– The company invested $3 million into its facility located at the 2.0 acre site at 1151 Main Street, Speedway. The business has also secured room for additional expansion in the future and will initially employ around 25 people.
– The facility includes a state-of-the-art craft brewery, quality lab, taproom and a large 8,000-square-foot outdoor patio and lawn area with a stage for live music.
– This independent, central Indiana based craft brewery was founded by two award-winning craft brewers, Bill Ballinger and Michael Pearson, and a talented craft beer enthusiast, Shane Pearson to bring flavorful interpretations of craft beer to market.
– The brewery is widely known for their flagship beer, Lift Off IPA, a bounty of American hops deliver the signature clean and crisp finish of a perfectly balanced West Coast style IPA.
