Summer Stock presents a Spelling Bee

May I have the definition please? Get used to hearing that because the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is coming to town!

Summer Stock Stage’s 2015 season includes the spelling bee, along with Mary Poppins. The hilarious musical centers on a fictional spelling bee where quirky adolescents compete for a slot in the National Spelling Bee. Overseen by grown-ups still stuck in adolescence themselves, this eccentric group of outsiders learns that winning isn’t everything and losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. This tuneful tale, winner of two Tony awards, comes to Summer Stock Stage June 25-28!

Mary Poppins is based on the classic Disney film, adventure abounds in the Banks household when a mysterious nanny magically appears. Mary Poppins whisks the Banks children into a world of dancing chimney sweeps, shopkeepers, and a variety of colorful characters.
