Make your own fairy garden for International Fairy Day

Ever think about bringing some mystic fairy magic into your home?! If so, how about creating a miniature fairy garden, especially since today is International Fairy Day!

Sharon Hadden, with the Allisonville Nursery, Garden and Home in Fishers, says fairy gardens are very popular right now! They’re fun for all ages, throughout the year and especially nice for people with limited outdoor space.Today on Indy Style, she showed us, step-by-step, how to create these little gardens on your own.

Steps for building a fairy garden:

-Need a container. Can be anything-a broken flower pot, wooden crate etc.

-Add rocks in the bottom and some grit on top so it drains properly

-Add soil

-Add a house so the fairies have someplace to come and live

-Add plants-if the garden is going to be indoors, Allisonville Nursery has a wide variety of indoor plants. If the garden is outdoors, you can use any sort of small plants from your own garden

-Add accessories-Allisonville Nursery has an entire section of the garden store that sells all type of accessories and furniture for your fairy garden

-Add a water element-Fairies are attracted to water!
