Pacers introduce Myles Turner

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Pacers organization introduced their newest face, Myles Turner, at a press conference on Friday afternoon.

The Pacers drafted the 7’0″ center from the University of Texas with the 11th pick in Thursday’s draft.

“Very young, a very young player,” said Pacers president Larry Bird.  “He’s a hard worker.  He’s dedicated to the sport, and we just feel like in the near future he’s going to be something special for us.”

It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for the 19 year old; he jetted from the draft in New York City to Indianapolis last night.  He has family in Fort Wayne and really fell in love with the city during his pre-draft workout this month.

“I really appreciate the fact that the organization put coach Frank Vogel out there in front of us in the workout,” said Turner.  “Not everywhere you workout you have your head coach out there showing you what to do and out there with you.”
