$1.5M settlement reached with Indy health care company

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The U.S. Attorneys office announced Monday that a settlement was reached with Indianapolis-based United Home Healthcare, Inc. and B&L Personal Services, Inc.

Officials say the settlement will result in a total payment of $1.5 million to the United States and the State of Indiana.

United provided home health care services throughout Central Indiana.

In 2012, an investigation uncovered that United was billing for services that it did not provide.

According to Assistant United States Attorney Shelese Woods, the review of patient files showed that from 2012 through 2014 United had over-billed services.

United will pay $45,509.73 to the State of Indiana for its investigative fees and costs.

No evidence of physical injury or harm to patients was found during the investigation.
