Delaware County faces aftermath of flooding

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – People in Delaware County are facing the aftermath of weekend flooding, even after floodwaters receded in the area.

A large pile of debris blocked half of County Road 300 between Daleville and Yorktown Monday morning. The debris came from a field just off the road.

A large pool of water sat in the field, and a small section of cornstalks was flattened.

The field is along the White River, where two kayakers had to be rescued in Delaware County over the weekend. Officials said the water levels were high and dangerous.

As levels recede, officials are still encouraging people to let the Delaware County EMA know about any damage, which can be done through a form online.
