Police arrest Montgomery County man for meth manufacturing

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Montgomery County and Indiana State Police say they arrested a man on preliminary charges of manufacturing and dealing in methamphetamine.

On Friday, ISP and officers with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department were made aware of illegal activity in the 400 block of East 300 South. That’s just south of Crawfordsville.

Once at the residence police spoke with 51-year-old Richard Francis. Francis asked the officer to leave the property leading police to obtain a search warrant to search the property.

Police searched the property and located several trash bags of meth trash and several other items that are used for meth manufacturing. Officers took Francis into custody and transported him to the Montgomery County Jail.

Police say the investigation was ongoing on Monday afternoon.
