Tom Cruise to appear in Top Gun sequel

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The need for speed will be fulfilled once again in a Top Gun sequel, 30 years after the original was released.

According to Variety, Tom Cruise will be a part of the anticipated sequel.

The CEO of Skydance announced the news of the next installment of Top Gun over the weekend. He said the movie will reflect today’s military – filled with drone technology – and exploring the end of an era of dog fighting and fighter pilots.

The original film came out in 1986. The sequel is only in the screenplay stage.
