INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police in Indianapolis are investigating after Harold Mullen, 57, was found shot inside an east side home Tuesday morning, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of North Ewing Street shortly after 6 a.m. on the report of shots fired.

When police arrived on scene they found Mullen with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene. IMPD investigators initially said it’s possible this was a suicide but details surrounding the man’s death are under investigation. Investigators say they don’t believe this was a random act.

Detectives urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
