Police arrest 15-year-old in suspected robbery

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – An employee at a gas station in Fishers called police to report that they were being robbed, early Tuesday morning.

The employee described the suspect as a male dressed in black and armed with a large knife. They told police that the suspect walked around the store, and then went into the men’s bathroom.

When the suspect came out of the bathroom, he approached the counter and threatened the employee with the knife. The suspect demanded cash then fled the store on foot.

Police located a person matching the suspect’s description, hiding by a restaurant close to the gas station.

Police detained the suspect and returned him to the gas station where the employee and two witnesses positively identified him as the person that robbed the business.

Officers also found the cash from the register and the knife used during the robbery.

He was transported to the Fishers Police Department, where it was determined he was 15 years old and his parents were contacted.

Once detectives met with and explained the situation to the suspect’s parents, he was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
