ISU set to move students into new downtown apartments

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) – Indiana State University officials say a downtown Terre Haute student apartment housing complex became fully leased almost immediately after the school started taking applications.

The (Terre Haute) Tribune-Star reports that construction is nearing completion and Thompson Thrift Development anticipates turning the use of the building over to the university as early as this week. ISU is leasing the four top stories of the five-story complex.

The complex has 75 apartments with 260 bedrooms. Thompson Thrift is responsible for leasing the ground-floor retail space.

Diann McKee is ISU’s vice president for business affairs and finance. She says the school will start moving furniture in as soon as it has use of the facility. Student move-in is scheduled for August and a ribbon-cutting is planned for the first week of August.
