INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Pyro technicians worked a week straight preparing for the downtown Indy July 4 firework show.
Ten thousand fireworks will fire off from the Regions Bank Tower starting at 10 p.m. The grand finale will display 1,000 fireworks within a few minutes.
Patriotic music will accompany the fireworks throughout the show, which is estimated to last 22 minutes.
New shapes and bold colors were added to the line up this year. Expect to see hearts, sun burst cascades and palm tree designs. A crew of 10 filled, wired and designed every shell.
Metered parking is free in downtown. Parking lots and garages will cost between $10 and $20.
Michigan Street between Meridian and Pennsylvania Street will close at 8 a.m.
Ohio and New York near the Regions Bank Tower will close at 9:30 a.m.
