Fans flock to IMS for Rolling Stones tickets

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH)– “Start me up,” said Linda Broadus as she waited for her Rolling Stones ticket.

Linda and her sister, Dianna, both from Kokomo, are about to make a dream come true. They’re seeing the Stones live on the Fourth of July.

The sisters got their tickets months ago, but they still hopped in line Friday.

“We’re picking up an extra ticket for one of the nieces that wants to go at the last minute,” she said.

With those tickets, they’ll see the Stones perform on a stage just east of the pagoda at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Crews put the finishing touches on the stage Friday morning.

The sisters say there’s no place they’d rather see the band.

More than 40,000 are expected at IMS Saturday. You can help decide one of the songs the band will play. Click here to vote.

The Stones are coming off a 19-song set list in Raleigh, N.C. The band played “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Sympathy for the Devil” and Dianna’s favorite, “Jumping Jack Flash!”

Her sister, Linda, doesn’t have a favorite tune.

“I like them. I like all of them,” she said.

Tickets are still available through IMS for $77 dollars.

Coolers, chairs and umbrellas will have to be left in the car. Fans can bring small backpacks and blankets inside.
