Police: Man killed in shooting identified

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting on Indy’s east side Friday night.

It happened in the area of 16th Street and Dequincy Street around 9:45 p.m.

After police arrived on scene, they discovered Bobby Williams, Jr., 24, in an alley north of 16th Street suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest.

Upon further investigation, police also found Sharrod Crowe, 24, with gunshot wounds in a detached garage. He was pronounced dead at scene by emergency crews.

Williams was transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Police also say forced entry into the garage was found. However, it is unclear at this time whether that played a role in the shooting or not.

The incident is still under investigation and witnesses provided a limited description of a possible suspect seen leaving the scene.

The description provided is a black male, wearing all black and armed with a gun.

Police are asking anyone with information on this case to contact Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-8477.
