Registered sex offender arrested for posing as IMPD officer
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man accused of impersonating a police officer was arrested in Indianapolis on Thursday.
Police say Charles Gamble was visiting his girlfriend on the campus of Marian University when he approached a Marian Police Department officer.
Gamble said he was an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer and asked if Marian PD needed any part-time help.
The Marian officer said the department was not in need of part-time help and Gample left. As he drove away, the officer noticed the vehicle had a temporary license plate.
After looking up the plate, the officer concluded that Gamble was not a cop and was a registered sex offender.
Gamble was arrested and has been charged with impersonating an officer.
