LEESBURG, Ind. (AP) – A northern Indiana man faces a preliminary murder charge alleging that he fatally shot his father at the rural home they shared.

Thirty-five-year-old Ryan Daniel Poe was being held Saturday at the Kosciusko (kahs-ee-AHS’-koh) County Jail in his father’s killing.

Police responding to a 911 call about a possible shooting found Poe’s 60-year-old father, Ronnie Poe, with an apparent gunshot wound to his head Friday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Journal Gazette reports deputies found Poe’s son in his bedroom of the home they shared in the town of Leesburg about 40 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
