Pacers fall to Heat in first summer league game
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) – The Pacers opened Orlando Pro Summer League play with a 92-76 loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Pacers first round draft pick Myles Turner had a solid showing; he led all scorers with 20 points, going 8 of 11 from the field with eight rebounds.
“The one bright spot,” said Pacers assistant coach Dan Burke, in a team release. “He looks confident, he looks like he belongs. I know it’s summer league but he had a helluva first day. And he’ll get better.”
“Before the game, I was nervous because it was my first taste of professional basketball, but I felt good and it was good to get the jitters out, but we didn’t win and that’s the bottom line,” said Turner.
The Pacers take on Orlando on Monday at 1 p.m.
