People pulling for Fogle as child porn investigation continues

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Tuesday started with a swarm of investigators, including the FBI at the Zionsville home of Jared Fogle, also known as “The Subway Guy”.

Investigators were seen taking electronics out of Fogle’s Zionsville home in the 4500 block of Woods Edge Drive.

Back in April, Russell Taylor, the former executive director for Fogle’s Jared Foundation was arrested by Indiana State Police on child porn charges. He now faces charges in federal court.

Keith Corder of Brownsburg was eating inside an Indianapolis Subway when he heard the news

“It’s disappointing. I hope that none of that is true regarding Jared,” said Corder.

“I was just wondering what was going on and hoping that he was alright and doesn’t get mixed up in whatever his executive did,” said Ryan Hayes of Indianapolis, who was also eating inside an Indianapolis Subway.

Around noon on Tuesday, a Subway spokesperson issued 24-Hour News 8 the following official statement:

We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee.  We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely.  We don’t have any more details at this point.”

About five hours later the company issued this statement:

Subway and Jared Fogle have mutually agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation. Jared continues to cooperate with authorities and he expects no actions to be forthcoming.  Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take.”

It’s still not clear why investigators were searching Fogle’s home and what role, if any, Fogle may have.

“I think it’s sorry that he’s being detained or whatever or questioned about what seems to be something his executive did earlier a couple of months ago,” Hayes said.

Hayes added, “I just hope that he’s okay and that he’ll continue to be a good representative for the company, I guess.”

“I hope that he comes through that and I hope none of that is real for him,” Corder said.
