Semi jackknifes on I-70 near Harding Street

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Emergency crews were on the scene of a jackknife semi in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70.

According to Indiana State Police dispatchers, there were no injuries in the accident that happened near the 78.8 mile marker. Officials say the left three lanes were closed around 2:20 p.m.

The accident happened shortly after heavy rain began falling in the metro area. INDOT also reported high water near Meridian Street in the eastbound lanes of I-70.

Officials remind motorists to be cautious of water on the roadway.
