Double drowning investigation leads to drug arrests

WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) The investigation of the circumstances leading up to the drowning deaths of two Warsaw teens has led to the arrest of three people.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WANE, the bodies of Korbin Foster and Kaleb Lampkin, both 17, were pulled from a pond on the property of a Warsaw home on the afternoon of May 30. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Detectives had been called to the home at 1:41 a.m. the same day to investigate the disappearance of the two boys. At that time, deputies were told there had been a sleepover of teenage boys celebrating the recent birthday of Lampkin. One of the teens at the party was acting strangely and appeared to have ingested drugs, so he was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.

The subsequent investigation led to the June arrests of two male juveniles on drug charges according to a news release issued by the sheriff’s department Wednesday morning. That same release also indicated that Jared Thomas Frantz, 28, was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of dealing controlled substances.

The drownings of Foster and Lampkin were ruled accidental, however the results of toxicology tests have not yet been released so it’s not known if the two boys had ingested drugs.
