Scoop Stacking contest for Ice Cream Social

Get ready to pile high a few scoops of ice cream! That’s exactly what Tracy and Amber did this morning on Indy Style! It’s all part of the 26th Annual Ice Cream Social on Monument Circle to celebrate National Ice Cream month and help benefit Girls Inc!

Here is everything you need to know to “get your scoop on” and support a good cause while doing it!

• Takes place Friday, July 10, 11am-2pm, southeast quadrant of Monument Circle (in front of Hilbert Circle Theatre)

• Selling “udderly” delicious Edy’s ice cream sundaes for minimum $3 donation, plus toppings include Kroger chocolate, strawberry or caramel syrups, maraschino cherries, sprinkles, Prairie Farms whipped cream and Brics Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station Oreo cookie crumbles

• Over 30 celebrities (media personalities, sport figures, business dignitaries) will dish out giant sundaes; they switch shifts every 30 minutes; find celebrity line-up on WinnersDrinkMilk.com

• Other special features include face painters, mascots (Buttercup, Bennie the Bean, Trooper Teddy, Zeke, Nitro, Rowdie), interactive games, music, Kaplan University photo booth, the Pacers Fan Van, and Molly and her calves – real live cows from Purdue Dairy Sciences

• All proceeds benefit Girls Inc.; beneficiary switches out every 2 years; last 2 years sundae sales raised over $15,000 for Girl ScoutsIce Cream Facts

• 87% of Americans have ice cream in their freezer at any given time… (but come down and get your “dish” from local celebs Friday!)

• Americans eat on average 20 quarts of ice cream a year, that’s enough to fill up 5 gallons of milk!

• It takes 12 gallons of milk to create one gallon of ice cream

• One cone of ice cream can be finished off in 50 licks

• Ice cream contains many of the same vitamins and essential nutrients found in milk
