Court documents: Teens took LSD before drowning

WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) – Three people are now behind bars following an investigation into the drowning death of two Warsaw teens.

The bodies of Korbin Foster and Kaleb Lampkin, both 17, were pulled from a pond on the property of a Warsaw home on the afternoon of May 30. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Detectives had been called to the home at 1:41 a.m. the same day to investigate the disappearance of the two boys.

At that time, deputies were told there had been a sleepover of teenage boys celebrating the recent birthday of Lampkin. One of the teens at the party was acting strangely and appeared to have ingested drugs, so he was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Court documents indicate that Foster and Lampkin had consumed “a large amount” of LSD shortly before their deaths.

The subsequent investigation led to the June arrests of two male juveniles on drug charges. According to court documents, one of the juveniles admitted to police that he bought LSD from Jared Thomas Frantz, 28, at a local gas station. Frantz was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of dealing controlled substances.

The drownings of Foster and Lampkin were ruled accidental. However, results from toxicology tests have not yet been received.

According to Sergeant Chad Hill, it’s too early to speak on whether Frantz will see additional charges, depending on the toxicology results.

He said the Probation Department is reviewing the minors’ case, potentially waiving them as adults. An employee with the department could not elaborate.
