Hospital staff put together wedding for terminally ill man

LONG ISLAND, New York (CNN) – Hospital workers in Long Island, New York helped a terminally ill patient marry his girlfriend.

Keith Borum and Nina Scott decided to get married after they heard his cancer was terminal.

Caregivers at Good Samaritan Hospital said they worked together to give them a wedding.

“We know they didn’t have the means to do exactly what they wanted, so we all just came together. We had flowers donated, cakes donated. We raised money for the rings. We just worked together, put this whole thing together for them just so they can have something to remember before he passed.” Christina Ware, a hospital nurse, told CNN.

Nurses and family members came together in Borum’s room for the celebration.

After the couple was pronounced husband and wife, they said they couldn’t be happier.
