Red Cross emergency shelter in Speedway closed for now

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The emergency shelter at the Speedway United Methodist Church has been closed for the time being.

The American Red Cross decided to put the shelter on standby as all individuals and families now have a place to stay.

Red Cross said the shelter would be re-opened should anybody else affected by recent or future flooding need a place to stay.

On Friday, the Red Cross will distribute clean-up supplies to 10 additional families affected by recent flooding, bringing the total number of families assisted to 45.

If you or someone you know has been affected by flooding, you can contact the Red Cross at 888-684-1441.
