1 dead, 3 injured in Tipton County crash
TIPTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Tipton County are investigating a fatal crash that involved two-vehicles on Thursday morning.
According to police, the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 28 and State Road 213.
Police say a Ford Explorer was heading southbound on SR 213 and disregard the stop sign at SR 28. The Explorer then collided with a Chevrolet 3500 Flatbed truck that was traveling westbound on SR 28.
The driver of the Explorer, 27-year-old Lydi Noemi Gomez of Sharpsville, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her passenger, 39-year-old Olga Montiel of Windfall, was transported to IU Health Tipton Hospital and later taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital for surgery. She was listed in stable condition Friday.
28-year-old Joshua Owens of Marion, the driver of the Chevrolet truck, was treated for minor injuries at IU Health Tipton Hospital. Ownes passenger, 28-year-old Derek Brown from Gas City was taken to IU Health Tipton Hospital and later transported to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. He was listed in stable condition on Friday.
