Child struck by car on city’s west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and the Wayne Township Fire Department say a child was struck on Friday afternoon on the city’s west side.

The call came out around 1 p.m. for a pedestrian struck near Washington and Victor streets.

IMPD dispatchers say a child was struck by a car and was transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Wayne Township Fire officials say the child was transported in serious condition.

IMPD said the vehicle that struck the child stayed at the scene.
