Early morning chase ends, 3 sent to hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A reported drunk driver in a stolen vehicle ended in a wreck that sent two people to the hospital.

Dispatched received a call of a drunk driver behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle just after 12:15 a.m. and a chase then began.

A portion of the chase took place on I-65 where authorities say a silver Ford Explorer was traveling northbound.

The vehicle then exited the interstate at the Washington Street exit.

The chase ended just after 12:30 a.m. after the vehicle went through a fence, over railroad tracks and flipped over several times.

The male driver attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was later apprehended.

He was identified as Corey Horton, 28, and was hiding in a nearby shed. The IMPD K-9 unit found him, and believed he was under the influence of a illegal narcotic.

The female and male passengers, along with Horton, were transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in good condition.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident.
