Deputy injured in fall from 4-H fair ride

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — A reserve sheriff’s deputy is recovering after being hurt Saturday night when he fell through a ride floor at the 4-H fair.

Our partners at the Columbus Republic report the deputy was trying to help a young girl on the ride who suffered a seizure.

The weight of four first responders caused the ride’s floor to collapse, resulting in the deputy dropping about three feet.

The deputy, Lloyd Miller, was treated and released from the hospital.
