Bird still trying to sell Pacers’ George on position switch

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Larry Bird is embracing the Indiana Pacers changes.

He wants two-time All-Star Paul George to join him.

After introducing three new players Tuesday — guard Monta Ellis, forward Chase Budinger and center Jordan Hill — Bird told reporters that he wouldn’t get into a public spat over where George will play this season and that George “doesn’t make the decisions around here.”

Bird has made no secret that he wants the 6-foot-9, 220-pound swingman to move to power forward this season as the Pacers change offenses.

On Saturday, George said he was willing to do whatever was asked but didn’t expect to log 30 minutes per game at the spot.
