Boy’s YouTube message to bullies earns him trip to White House

HARTFORD, Mich. (WOOD) – An 11-year-old Michigan boy who confronted his bullies on YouTube is heading to the White House.

“It’s funny because he’s fat,” and “I hope he gets cancer,” were just two of the 15 hateful comments Logan Fairbanks encountered under the videos he previously posted on YouTube.

Instead of ignoring the remarks, Logan decided to face his online bullies and encourage other victims by sitting down and reading the lewd and profanity-filled comments, which you can watch here.

The online confrontation has been viewed more than 750,000 times since Logan’s father posted it on YouTube six days ago.

Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV reports the video even attracted the attention of White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, who tweeted, “You are stronger than anyone’s hurtful words. We could all learn something from you and your dad.”

Jarrett also invited Logan and his father to the White House.

After receiving overwhelming support, Logan’s father also set up a mailbox for fans to send birthday cards and mail to the boy:
