Photos released of man suspected in Indy store burglary, arson

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Detectives in Indianapolis released surveillance photos on Tuesday that show a suspect wanted for a burglary and arson back in April.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials, the crime happened on April 26 between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Police say a man seen in the photos made several trips to A Better Used Tires, located on 2006 South Shelby Street, and took used tires from the business. Police say the man then loaded the tires into a gold van, which was possibly a Honda Odyssey.

According to investigators, the man returned to the business around 7:30 a.m. and set the building on fire, causing around $70,000 in damages.

Anyone with information that could help police in their investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477(TIPS).
