2 arrested, 1 wanted after crash on I-65 near Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – One man remains at large after running from Indiana State Police after a car crash on Interstate 65 Tuesday evening.

Sgt. Kim Riley says around 7:30 p.m., troopers found drugs inside a car that crashed about one mile south of the Dayton exit on I-65. Two men and a woman were also inside the car.

Before officers could handcuff the men, both ran off into a field.

Troopers as well as Tippecanoe County sheriff’s deputies searched the area and just after midnight located Xavier Romer. He was arrested and booked into the Tippecanoe Jail for “resisting law enforcement.” He has since bonded out.

The woman inside the car, Brianna Pettinato, was arrested at the scene and faces charges of possession of meth and paraphernalia.
