Actor Pooch Hall talks about season 3 of “Ray Donovan”

SHOWTIME’s Critically acclaimed drama RAY DONOVAN is back for season 3! Chat with series star Pooch Hall about what to expect & what it’s like playing against Jon Voight!

POOCH HALL is best known for his portrayal of “Derwin Davis,” a new and eager wide receiver for the San Diego Sabers, on the comedy series The Game. Hall is a trained boxer who won the Southern New England Golden Gloves in 1994. He also played football in high school and college. In an effort to try something new, he participated in a stage production in college and discovered that acting was something he truly enjoyed. He began his professional acting career in New York, when he landed a small role in the independent feature film Lift, opposite Kerry Washington. He went on to starring and supporting roles in the independent films Black Cloud and Blind Dating with Chris Pine for director James Keach; and larger studio films like Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming and the hit film Jumping The Broom. On the small screen, Hall worked with Jenna Elfman on the CBS primetime series Accidentally On Purpose and had recurring roles on Suits and Warehouse 13 for Syfy.

SEASON OVERVIEW

RAY DONOVAN stars two-time Golden Globe® and Emmy® nominee Liev Schreiber as L.A.’s best professional fixer, the man called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away. Season three finds Ray adrift from his business associates over the murder of Kate McPherson (Vanessa Shaw), and from his family after Abby’s (Paula Malcomson) affair. An opportunity for change arises when Ray meets billionaire media mogul Andrew Finney (Ian McShane), who needs Ray’s help managing his dysfunctional children: his black sheep son Casey (Guy Burnet) and his cut-throat daughter Paige (Katie Holmes). The siblings jockey for control over the family affairs, and as Ray becomes a driving force in the Finney empire, he discovers the price of ascension into the world of billionaires. Meanwhile, his father Mickey (Jon Voight, in his Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe-winning role), narrowly escaped last season’s heist debacle with Darryl (Pooch Hall), stumbles into a business opportunity in the hopes of building his own empire, Mickey-style. Terry (Eddie Marsan) struggles to find purpose as he serves time for the pot store heist, his worsening Parkinson’s symptoms impacting his mind. With Terry away, Bunchy (Dash Mihok) has taken over as manager at the Fite Club and finds himself drawn to a tough new member who won’t pay her dues. Abby (Malcomson) tries to support her family, but when she feels everyone pushing her away, she tries to reconnect with her old life in Southie. Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) struggles with a strict teacher at her new private school, as Conor (Devon Bagby) blunders his way into adolescent sexuality.

The cast also includes Steven Bauer,Katherine Moennig and guest star Elliott Gould. RAY DONOVAN will premiere on Sunday, July 12th at 9 p.m. ET/PT. RAY DONOVAN stands as the network’s highest-rated freshman series ever, averaged 5.3 million weekly viewers in its sophomore year, and earned two Golden Globe win and multiple Emmy nominations.
