Some area students received new shoes for school

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –  Just in time for school,  several local students received new shoes.

The new shoes were donated by one woman to the Salvation Army.

Mrs. Lewis donated approximately 350 pairs of shoes that went to students from 17 Fountain Square area schools.

The generous donor said the shoes were given so that that are able to have a new pair of shoes, something she says she never had growing up.

She also hopes the new shoes give the children a little bit of confidence that may help them throughout the upcoming school year.
