West Lafayette man charged in child exploitation

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Formal charges have been filed against the former worship leader of a West Lafayette church, and more details are coming to light about the acts that landed the former worship leader behind bars.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WLFI, twenty-eight-year-old Craig Burden of West Lafayette was charged Wednesday with possession of child pornography, voyeurism and attempted child exploitation.

As News 18 previously reported, Burden was arrested Friday for voyeurism and sexual gratification with a victim less than 14 years of age. He was fired from his position as a worship leader at Calvary Baptist Church in West Lafayette the same day.

On Wednesday, Burden went before the Tippecanoe County Magistrate for the second time this week, after a prosecutors placed a 72-hour on him Monday.

According to court documents, his wife turned Burden in to authorities after viewing what she described as child pornography on his computer while he was away from home.
