One airlifted from crash at US 231, Veterans Memorial Parkway

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – One person has been airlifted from the scene of a crash at U.S. 231 and Veterans Memorial Parkway Thursday morning.

The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. A semitrailer headed north on U.S. 231 collided with an SUV that was turning left from U.S. 231 South onto Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The driver of the SUV was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. His condition is unknown at this time.

The driver of the semi is alert, walking around and speaking with investigators.

Officers said the northbound lanes of U.S. 231 at Veterans Memorial Parkway were closed for cleanup, but have since reopened.
